Inspired by the famous painting “The Beauty Looking Back,” this dining chair captures the silhouette of a woman in kimono. The design evokes the obi sash forming the backrest and sleeves becoming armrests. Much like a kimono where the obi does not directly touch the body, Michaeli's backrest uses different upholstery on its inner and outer surfaces. This contrast between the inner and outer sections is one of its defining characteristics.
